The water tower in Schoonhoven was built in 1901 to a design by architect FA de Jongh for the first water supply network in the Krimpenerwaard . The 50 m high tower has an iron flat bottom water reservoir with a capacity of 150 m³. The tower spire incorporates a 6 m high iron standpipe with which extra pressure could be put on the system in an emergency. The water tower has the status of a national monument because of its architectural and cultural-historical value and is also important as the final piece in the oeuvre of water tower architect De Jongh. [1] [2] The tower is executed by CPW Dessing [3]
